What NOT to Do:
"When we see a friend in a bad situation, our first instinct is to try and fix it. But there are some things you should avoid:
- Don’t attack the abuser directly.
- Don’t blame or shame your friend.
- Don’t try to force them out.
- Don’t give up on them.
What TO Do:
- Be a safe space.
- Talk, don’t pressure.
- Help them recognize the abuse.
- Give them resources.
- Help them create a safety plan.
- Be patient.
